  • The Friendship Games is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee and is governed by the Friendship Games Board and Management Team.  The State Sporting Associations are engaged to manage the delivery of the Competition component of the event.

  • Registrations are welcome from youth aged 15-18 years of age (inclusive) in 2025.

  • No, there is no qualification process to register for the Friendship Games.

  • Unfortunately for all team sports the Friendship Games only accepts Team nominations.  In the registration process, individual’s information is collected as per the Friendship Games Privacy Policy.

The Games

  • No.

  • We currently have 10 Sports on our program and are targeting 3,600 participants from across Western Australia, Northern Territory and Internationally. The team sports include: AFL; Basketball; Cricket; Netball; Soccer; Volleyball; and Water Polo. The individual sports include: Athletics; Badminton; and Table Tennis.

  • Personal accident/injury insurance coverage is the responsibility of each individual competitor. Friendship Games strongly encourages each participant to investigate their own requirements and needs to ensure they have adequate cover in place should an accident or injury occur during the Games.

  • Draws and fixtures will be published on 27 June 2025.

Sports

    • Team Sports have a team registration fee (based on $200 per participant) as per below and payments can be made by EFT / INVOICE

    • Individual Sports have an individual registration fee as per below and payment is only via Credit Card

    • Team sport registration fees are inclusive of a mandatory Coach and Team Manager (based on $1,750 per person) as per below and payments can be made by EFT / INVOICE

    • Individual sports participants are required to be accompanied by a Parent/Guardian at extra cost. Payment is only via Credit Card.

    • Registration fee includes: Accommodation (6 nights) in an ACCOR Hotel Group hotel (minimum 4 star accommodation), breakfast, lunch and dinner and ground transportation during the Games and 5 x afternoon activities (Education, Cultural and Social)

  • Western Australian and Northern Territory Regional and Remote Scholarship Program

    The Western Australian and Northern Territory Regional and Remote Scholarship Program represent a unique opportunity for regional and remote participants in WA and NT, promoting equity and inclusion. Through the scholarship program, the Friendship Games aims to create a supportive environment that empowers individuals to engage fully in the event and its associated activities.

    The scholarship program is for participants (including coach and manager for team sports  and parent/guardian for individual sports) from Western Australia (WA) and the Northern Territory (NT) in regional and remote areas and is designed to support individuals facing financial and logistical barriers of participation in the Friendship Games.

    700 fully funded scholarships are available for participants in Teams Sports and Individual Sports.

    • All 15-18 year old youth who reside in Regional or Remote Western Australia and Northern Territory, who would otherwise not be able to participate in the Friendship Games due to financial and logistical barriers are eligible to apply for scholarship consideration.

    • Team applications (for team sports) and individual applications (for individual sports) are welcome.

    • Two rounds of application will be offered:

      • 1st Round – Opening 1 December 2024 – Close 15 February 2025; and

      • 2nd Round – Opening 16 February 2025 – Close 30 April 2025.

    • All applications will be reviewed by the Indigenous Advisory Committee in consultation with Local Community Elders and successful applications will be recommended to the Friendship Games Board of Directors for approval.

    • Team sport applications must include the coach and manager.

    • Individual applications must include a parent/guardian.

    • Approved scholarship recipients will be notified by the organisers.

    • Scholarships are awarded at the absolute discretion of the Friendship Games Board of Directors and are not transferrable.

    • Should all 700 scholarships be awarded at the completion of the first round of applications, the second round of applications will be deemed unnecessary and will be cancelled.

    1. Travel Support:

      Flights/Bus Transport: Participants (including coach and manager or parent/guardian) receive round-trip transportation to Perth. Bus Transport will be provided for participants from Carnarvon and south or Carnarvon.
      Flights will be provided for participants north of Carnarvon.

    2. Accommodation:

      • 6 Nights Stay: Participants (including coach and manager or parent/guardian) will be accommodated in DLGSC Accommodation Facilities for the duration of the event.

      • Meals:

        • Breakfast

        • Lunch

        • Dinner are included.

      • Ground Transportation:

        • Bus transportation is provided for the duration of the event, facilitating access to event venues and activities.

    3. Competition Fees:

      All competition fees are included for participants (including coach and manager).

    4. Afternoon Activities:

      • The scholarship includes a variety of activities focused on education, culture, and social engagement. This aspect promotes not only personal development but also cultural exchange and community building among participants.

  • Accreditation and Participant Games Pack Collection will be available on Saturday 12 July 2025 between 8am-5pm and on Sunday 13 July between 8am – 3pm from the Games Hub located at the Perth High Performance Centre 100 Stephenson Ave, Mt Claremont.  Photo ID for the team coach and/or manager, or individual (for Athletics, Badminton and Table Tennis only) must be presented upon collection.

    Accreditation must be worn at all times when not competing.
